Deafkid is made up by musician producer duo Christopher Lockington and Florian Sauvaire. The pair released their second AA side single ‘Vigilante’ & ’Horns’ via Tape Club as part of the Singles Series.
Prior to forming Deafkid, Chris and Flo worked with experimental hip hop artist Ghostpoet and provided additional production on his Mercury Prize nominated album ‘Peanut Butter Blues And Melancholy Jam’, also forming the live band for subsequent Ghostpoet tours from 2009-2012.
Their debut AA side single ‘Talk’ / ‘Pig’ was released towards the end of 2012, gaining support in the UK from NME, CLASH as well as being picked up by Zane Lowe as his Next Hype record. ‘Vigilante’ maintains the unique Deafkid sound, blending together a mixture of electronica, experimental and pop genres. Alongside ‘Horns’, a more down tempo track, the two mesh together nicely showing off the band’s diversity of writing. The duo cites their main influences as Three Trapped Tigers, Mew, Cant and Eskmo.
